W.A.L.T: summarise, ask questions and find interesting words
Description: for buddy novel study we discuss the story with a partner. First before we start reading any chapter we have to make a prediction. During the story we have to find 5 interesting words for each chapter. We have to have the definition of each words, also a sentence and synonyms. After that we write a summary of that chapter.
Evaluation: I give my self a yellow target because I didn't finish on time and I don't think my predictions make sense.
Description: for maths we learnt how to make a pie chart. We had to come up with a question and a number. We broke up the number so we would have a number for each shape. For the chart you have to count the gaps you don't count the lines.
Description: for maths we have been doing statistics. We learnt how to make block graphs, bar graphs, strip graphs and pie graphs.
A block graph is like a bar graph except you colour in each block.
A bar graph is when you have your information in bars. You have the catergories on the bottom and the numbers on the side. The number of votes you have you colour how many blocks you have from the votes.
Pie graph/strip graph
For the pie graph we had to make a strip graph. What we had to do for the strip graph we had to cut out our bars from our bar graph and stick them together and make strip graph. Then glue the ends together to make circle, I put a dot in the middle of my circle in my book and link the information and you your graph. I worked the percentages by multiplying the number by 100 from my Information. I multiplied it by 100 because the percentage is out of 100 and the total is 32. I divided the answer from the multiplication answer by 32. That's how I got my answer.
This is the link to the survey that we did fir maths
W.A.L.T: cook food from the country we are researching
Description: For seed to table we were making Mexican food. The Mexican food was corn fritters and cinnamon biscuits. I worked with Izzy, Hayley, Jayden, Brandon and Memphis and the parent helpers were Gina and Emma.
These are the thank you cards for the parent helpers.
Evaluation: I think I did a great job cooking and participating in my group because I listened and I didn't get confused.
Feedback: I think you did great at taking the photos.
Feedforward: This is a good presentation keep it up
Description: in maths we have been learning about 3D shapes and maths language. This cube has paralle sides because they don't touch and they are facing each other, with the pyramid it doesn't have paralle sides because it touches. The cube has 6 faces and the pyramid has 5 faces. Also the pyramid has 5 vertices and the cub has 8 vertices. Here are the pictures and what these words mean.
Description: for task 4 we had to find out what the Olympic motto means. The Olympic motto is 3 Latin words and the 3 Latin words mean faster stronger and higher the information is on this image. That was the first thing the second was we had to find the pictograms that represent these words and put the pictograms in place. Here is my slide.
Feedback: Well done .You have done desprition and also your task four looks awesome
Description: in class we have been making demonstrations for aroha Atu aroha mai. If you don't know what aroha Atu aroha mai means, it means if you give respect to someone they will give it back. Here is my little demonstration of how you show aroha Atu aroha mai.
Evaluation: I gave my self a yellow target because I felt like I took a long time to finish something so simple.
Feedback: you did well with I long description and telling us what you did. Grace
Description: every monday we go to poutama and do discovery time. There are several tasks during discovery time. discovery time helps us using panekiretanga which means excellence. This my reflection.
sorry if you can't read it but the questions are what went well today? what was challenging today? what do I want to do differently ? how did I make someone else feel? how did you feel after discovery today ?
feedback: I really think your detail is really good.tui
Description: for reading we have tasks that is called the Olympic tasks. Each week we do one task, the first task was introducing our self in māori but you have to gusses who we are. Here is one of my slides.
Description: this week for reading we got to chose a creative task. We had a choice to use our own book or the one that Rosie gave us, I used the school journals and got to work with Samantha. Our task that we chose is making an invention. Here is our plan.
How our invention works is that when you push the green button it turns invisible the orange is the laser, the red one is the recording button rain drop one is a umbrella button just in case it rains and finally the yellow button is the net. This helps the character feeble in the story Suzie and the space nuts. Also on the other side of the lazier is the numbers that tell you how far you need to aim and a scanning part.
Evaluation: I give myself a yellow because I think I can do better because it looks messy.
Feedback: I think you did a good job I like the details and its very creative
Feed forward: to make more look like a button in stead oc having paper maybe scrunched up some cellophane. From Marion
